Brittany A. Berckes

Brittany’s work at FWRV embraces television, film, book publishing, music, digital media, and theater law. Clients also benefit from her prior experience with corporate, securities and financing law and her pre-law school experience with media companies. 

Before coming to FWRV, Brittany practiced corporate and finance law at Otterbourg P.C.  Prior to that, she was a Legal Fellow at the Media Law Resource Center where she worked on media law and policy issues. During law school, Brittany completed legal internships at Jazz at Lincoln Center and the United States Tennis Association, working in the in-house legal departments of those organizations on licensing, employment and intellectual property matters.  

In law school, Brittany worked with Creative Rights, an organization that provides legal services to artists, arts organizations and entrepreneurs in the Detroit area. Prior to attending law school, she interned with production teams at media companies that include MSNBC, FOX News and the Columbia Journalism Review.  

Brittany earned All-American Honors for four years as a member of the Varsity Women's Tennis Team at Amherst College (B. A.) and is a two-time NCAA National Champion. She earned her law degree from the University of Michigan Law School (J.D.) and is admitted to practice in New York. She is a member of both the New York City Bar Association's Entertainment Law Committee and Fashion Law Committee.
