Chambers USA names firm as one of New York’s three top-ranking media and entertainment firms working in film, music, television and theater for the eleventh time.
The 2016 edition of USA’s Best Lawyers and Law Firms – Chambers and Partners, has again named FWRV one of three top-ranking New York firms in the category of Media and Entertainment practice, covering film, music, television and theater. This is the eleventh straight year that FWRV has been awarded this elite ranking.
Chambers describes FWRV as “A boutique firm with a well-established reputation in film, television, music and theater. Also represents authors and other writers, as well as investors in the media and entertainment space.”
Four of the firm’s partners were cited in particular as “notable practitioners” in the Media and Entertainment category.
Listed in the top tier of “Media & Entertainment,” Michael Rudell is described by Chambers as “notable for his work in the television and film industries where he represents both producers and talent. He also represents major authors in both book and film deals.” His peers call him “a very good negotiator for his clients”
Elliot Brown is also listed in the top tier of the “Media & Entertainment.” As Chambers notes he is “extremely well respected for his theater practice where he represents on and off Broadway productions. He is also active in the publishing, film and television spaces.” Chambers also reports that Elliot’s clients “adore him and he’s extremely knowledgeable. He’s a model transactional attorney.”
Chambers states that clients of partner, Nick Gordon, “include major record labels and senior executives in the music industry”. Chambers also observed that he “has experience advising on complex transactional issues including rights, publishing, distribution and agency agreements.”
As reported by Chambers, Ken Weinrib is “known for his work in film and television, including negotiating significant agreements for a wide range of talent.” His peers commend Ken as “very experienced and knowledgeable in this space.”
